Temple Etz Chaim’s Early Childhood Committee invites your family to PJ Havdalah. Bring a stuffed animal or blanket and come dressed in your PJ’s! The event will include celebrating Havdalah, singing songs, listening to a bedtime story, creating your own spice box and reciting a Jewish bedtime blessing with other young families in our community. ips and handouts on how to create your own Jewish bedtime rituals and celebrate Havdalah at home will be provided.

Knitzvah Kneeds Knitters
& Crocheters

knitting imageJoin our Knit One, Purl Two group Sunday, January 22 at 4pm at 900 Washington Street.  We need you.  No experience required.

Attention all knitters, crocheters and wannabes!  Our Knit One, Purl Two group would love some additional hands.  We have a project well underway, making a wall hanging for the temple.  Individual efforts can be limited to as little as one 5 inch x 5 inch square.  We already have the yarn and would be happy to provide any needed instruction for beginners.  Email Sue Cass by clicking here for further information.  Future meetings will be posted on the temple calendar on the website. 
 
Winter is such a good time for indoor projects!  Do consider joining us.

FROGY Clothing Drive

green frogFROGY is sponsoring a Clothing Drive now through the end of January.
Attention members of Temple Etz Chaim, the teens of FROGY are collecting new and old winter clothes for children and adults once more. We are collecting these clothes to donate them to Project Just Because which helps many families in the greater Metro West area. The congregation did a great job with the collection last year and we hope you will all be willing to donate again this year.  There will be places to donate at the Temple and at religous school throughout the month of January.  For additional information please email Ally Balara by clicking here.

Bowling with the Brotherhood

dancing sisters (2)Join the Brotherhood for their 2nd Annual Bowling Night on January 30 at 7:30pm at Pinz located at 110 South Main Street in Milford.

In order to celebrate our 1st official event, we are planning to have another Brotherhood Bowling night. This year, we have several packages being offered to us by PINZ , so the price may vary depending on how many men sign up and which package we accept. Shabbat Shirah is the Shabbat when we read of the Israelites crossing the Sea as they leave Egypt. Both Moses and Miriam sing vibrant songs of rejoicing. In celebration of this Shabbat, we have prepared a beautiful Shabbat Evening Service, featuring Jewish music ranging from Mt. Sinai to today’s Jewish rock stars.

Please join the Temple Etz Chaim Choir, the Temple Musicians, Special Guest Cantor Irving Spenadel, and Rabbi Widzer for this special Shabbat Service.

No reservation required. All ages welcome.

Spice Up Your Life!

spiceTime for a change? Tired of the same old? Well ladies let’s add some spice! We will learn to cook with herbs and spices and hear about the benefits and great ways to substitute salts and unhealthy fats. We will bring new flavors and fun to your same old cooking ways! Herbs make Scents and so can you! Have fun making your own herbal or spice blend to take home for that “BAM”!

On Wednesday February 15, at 7pm Whole Foods Market in Bellingham will be hosting this educational and exciting event just for the Temple Etz Chaim Sisterhood members and their guests. This event not only will be educational but it may add some “Spice into Your Life”. The cost for this event is $5.00 and is payable the evening of Feb 15th. Whole Foods Markets will be donating this fee to a local charity.
