Social Action at Temple Etz Chaim

One of the 613 Mitzvot is "Tikkun Olam," to heal or repair the world. The Social Action Committee welcomes your participation in its programs. It is through volunteering time, effort and talent that our members find a meaningful way to connect to Judaism, the congregational family and the greater Franklin community. There is much work to be done by everyone, from our youngest Gan students to our many talented adult members.

Read about some of our exciting programs:

  • Knitzvah - The Knitzvah Project brings together the efforts of about 15 members of the congregation who are knitting or crocheting squares and piecing them into Blankets of Love, to be donated to area hospice facilities. The first blanket will be going to the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers MA.
  • Birthday Wishes - The early childhood members of Temple Etz Chaim threw a birthday party for the Temple's 18th year and donated items for a birthday box to Birthday Wishes.

Our current projects list is being updated. Please check back soon for more information or contact Melissa Folsom at mhgiraffe@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer your time or have any ideas for Tikkun Olam programs.
